I’ve long admired my friend Brett’s doe, Pholia Farm HB Detour, who is also stingy with the does. I had given up hope of getting a Detour daughter but in fall of 2024, after having an epic buck year leaving me with only 3 keeper does, I saw a post for little Saw-Whet. She’s the granddaughter of Detour and daughter of Wild in Wild D Delmore (ELITE), who just happens to be full sibling to a doe I would pick up in 2025 (Fern). Brett’s herd proves that does can be productive and consistent on once a day milking, which is what we strive for. I’m excited to see what Saw-Whet can do for our program.
